deathtechno.com website ran by Jack! Who? in the UK. A diverse palette has seen the previous releases feature music from artists including Audio Injection / Truncate, Hans Bouffmyhre, Joachim Spieth, DJ Spider, TWR72 and Paul Mac to name but a few.
The tenth release in the labels mixed artist series entitled “Black Mail” showcases individual tracks from a selection of handpicked artists. Featuring known and established artists, but also those breaking into the industry.
This EP contains some quality cuts from HD Substance in Spain, Ossie & Tomer from Israel, Sjoerd Mäts from the Netherlands and Drhamer based in Italy.
01. HD Substance - Greenhouse Effect
The veteran SUB tl label boss makes a DEAD CERT. debut after contributing to fine labels such as Joton's Newrhythmic, Xpansul's True Type Tracks, Housemeister's AYCB, Detroit Underground and Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien. His original track "Greenhouse Effect" focuses on a punchy, deep groove and a definite Detroit influence. Grabbing your attention, it takes you on a sonic ride full of melody and gritty textures.
02. Ossie & Tomer - Padim
Tel Aviv duo Ossie Yaniv & Tomer Iserovitch appear following music on Kevin Saunderson's KMS and DJ 3000's Detroit label Motech. The pair bring a perfect blend of a driving aesthetic layered under dreamy, harmonic chords, creating euphoric bursts of energy and emotion. "Padim" will ravage and fuse dancefloors the world over, no doubt making it a secret weapon.
03. Sjoerd Mäts - Unpolished
Dutchman Sjoerd Mäts has been under the watchful eye of the label for some time now and “Unpolished” is set to be his breakout track. Up tempo and stripped back, the bouncing groove is instantly ear-catching with a dark edge. The angular, electrified synths add to the sinister feel, before the melancholic hook takes this rough diamond to new heights of sound exploration.
04. Drhamer - Mental Manipulation
Italian artist Drhamer finishes this stunning EP, with a back catalogue including Coeter’s Kaputt, ADROIT and Kunst Music for example. Reminiscent of a tornado plundering a path of devastation, the tough and swirling nature of “Mental Manipulation” stands out as a work of excellence. Dark and grimey, yet light and airy, this contrasting combination of trippy ideas is delivered with great care and disturbing precision.
